The Mace and Indian Clubs, in various forms and incarnations, have been used for hundreds of years by athletes and warriors. Athletes have used them to increase strength, mobility and function in their shoulders, back, and neck with amazing results. Warriors have used them for the same reasons in addition to developing flow, weapon-body integration, deep movement and power development. This workshop will arm you with the baseline essential skills you need in order to get the most from using both of these tools in your training regimen. If you are looking for a way to increase your functionality and movement in the upper body, then it’s essential to learn as much as you can about the Mace and Indian Clubs. This workshop is not just for elite athletes and competitors! These tools can make an incredible difference in a wide spectrum of athletes; from the de-conditioned and immobile, to the highly-conditioned hyper-mobile.
Master the essentials of Mace and Indian Clubs by learning the powerful skills and principles behind this unique method of strength training. At this 5-hour user’s course, you will learn the most effective, safe, and efficient ways to use the Mace and Indian Clubs. During this hands-on course, you will be introduced to basic movement skills, as well as combination skills, that will allow you to train every day without getting bored or repeating the same skills day in and day out. Learn how to take the basic skills and combine them into powerful and dynamic movement patterns that you can use to "fill in the blanks" in your mobility and strength training.
ABOUT THE LEVEL II WORKSHOP
We are going to be covering more material for both the Mace and the Indian Clubs that will add to what we already covered in the Level I workshop. The purpose behind the Level ll workshop is to use the foundational material in Level I to create a base for the Level ll and Level lll material. Level II for the Mace is a review of Level I skills and the introduction of one-hand Mace work and heavier Mace training. Level II for the Indian Clubs is double club work with complementary and mirrored patterns.
Remember: the material that is being covered is for prehab, rehab and injury prevention purposes. The goal being to create strong, stable and mobile shoulders that can stand up to heavy loads and trauma. I will NOT be covering squats, curls, lunges or other techniques that are better suited for other tools. The techniques that will be presented are not "busy work" or "filler"; instead they are the essential technique that you must master to get the most from these powerful tools.
PERSONAL NOTE
I have a very limited "Trainer's Toolbox" that I use for my own training and that of my athletes. Limited because it only includes the most effective and powerful tools I have found in over forty years of training in athletics and martial arts. In the last several years I have only added two tools to the Toolbox: the Mace and the Indian Clubs. Those of you who know me will attest that I do not add things to my training unless there is a huge payoff. These two tools, the Mace and the Indian Clubs, really are that powerful and need to be a part of your training program as well.
I have reaped the benefits of these two tools in a number of ways since I started training with them regularly. In my case it was the nearly instantaneous relief from near debilitating shoulder pain. Both of my shoulders have taken a beating from over forty years of martial arts training and almost two decades of Kettlebells. Once I started training daily with the Mace and Indian Clubs the pain in both shoulders subsided to almost nothing. I was finally able to get a good night's sleep without constantly tossing and turning to get away from my throbbing and aching shoulders. This was huge for me and I will continue to train with them for this reason alone...
