Busy or Making Progress?

People confuse being busy in the gym to making progress. 

Nope. Not even close!

I know of several gyms in the area that 60+ minute workouts as the norm. Clients are busy from minute one, churning and burning.

But is this actually productive, short or long term?

It's not only non-productive it's unsustainable.

Think about this: if you are "working out" for 60 minutes, how hard are you actually working? Is the work you are doing "hard" enough for it to cause adaptation and support recovery?

My guess is that you are really "busy" for 60 minutes. Sweating and moving for the whole time. But are you actually making any progress?
