If you are a fan of cardio then you need to understand that there are different kinds of cardio and some forms are more beneficial for you, both long and short term, than others. You need to do some research about how steady state cardio (aerobic) and high-intensity cardio (anaerobic) are related and which one is best for you. It really depends on what you think you are going to need aerobic capacity for and how it will be applied. I think the more you study about aerobic and anaerobic training that you will make an informed decision.
